The Race Rib Experience

Feel the awesome power and handling of these amazing inflatable 75Kg catamarans as they pull 3G turns around a marker buoy.
With a power to weight ratio of 340bhp per tonne you are going to have an adrenalin pumping, action filled ride... not as a passenger but as a co-pilot as it is your responsibility to balance the boat for the turns and get the best performance! Five minutes will feel like an hour, any more will feel like a day!

THE EVENT:

The event is held at Chapman sands Sailing club in canvey Island, from here you will pull on your drysuit (drysuits go over your clothes and keep you warm and dry), put on your safety gear and get ready to hold on.

So we dont get sued and you dont get hurt theres short but thorough safety briefing.

Your Island Racing Race Rib experience will give you 20 minutes of extreme on the water action. This will be split into two 10 minutes stints, between stints its back to the Jetty for a much needed breather, a drink and a briefing for your next session. Bring your entourage and you can brag about how brave and talented you was (we promise not to tell them if you scream).

Every Experience is different we cant control the conditions or your abilities but as a guide your experience we run along the following lines;

FIRST STINT:
Youll be shown how to sit and hold on then its straight into the action. Well treat you gently on your first stint, we dont want you swimming just yet.

SECOND STINT:
Here the driver will take control and take you through a small course, some close formation running and a few extra things thrown in, then just before you get off the boat we will do some wheelies some you can have a photo of your day.

LAST OF ALL:
Youll get off the boat with a huge smile wanting to do it all again (just not right away it can be a bit tiring). Return your kit and exchange some stories about how high you managed to jump in the boat.

Important Information
The minimum age is 16 years old, under 18 year olds require
parental consent.
The maximum weight for this activity is (17 stone).
The maximum height is 1.93m (6'4") and the minimum height is 1.47m (4'10"). This is unsuitable for those who are pregnant, have neck or back problems, or heart/medical conditions.
No experience or qualifications are necessary; however non-swimmers should advise their instructor at their safety briefing.
Race Rib experiences are physically demanding youll experience the full demands these racing boats but on their pilots, you may be a bit sore around the ribs in the morning, if youre in any doubt about your fitness consult your doctor.
We are fully licensed by both the maritime and coastguard agency and Southend on Sea council.

This activity is dependent on appropriate weather conditions although we can run in most conditions except very high winds and poor visibility.
